Cactus Bloom

Canberra, Dark Room

Once a year this cactus blooms in Weston Creek Canberra. As the sun warms up toward the end of Spring, just in time for the dry summer, this beauty blooms from the small little buds below.

Other times of the year, the plant is used as a hose reel, the irony is unreal.

Eddie sits just close enough so he does not get pricks in him like last Spring. He moves ever so slightly as the shutter clicks.

For only a few hours the buds transform into stunning florals in this Canberra backyard. The owners swoon and are delighted by the short visit.
